Your role and your team:

This role will be part of the Chief Engineering Programme Management team, which is responsible for the Design, Integration and Certification of our Aircraft Programmes. You will report directly to the Head of Chief Engineering Programme Management and work closely with the Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers, Airworthiness and Flight Test to manage the development and delivery of the Certification and Flight Test work packages.

In this role you will use your experience of managing complex fast-paced projects to help the teams deliver Lilium's projects on time, and draw-upon your knowledge of project management best practice to develop fit-for-purpose process and ways of working.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • You will work closely with the Certification Chief Engineer and the Office of Airworthiness to project manage the certification tasks and deliverables within the Chief Engineering Office, on time, and to budget.
  • You will also work closely with the Flight Test Chief Engineer and the Flight Test Team to project manage the flight test tasks and deliverables within the Chief Engineering Office, on time, and to budget.
  • Support the Certification and Flight Test Chief Engineers working with the Integrated Project Teams to develop the plans, requirements, compliance means, designs, configurations, compliance evidence and reports.
  • Accountable for the Aircraft Schedule for Certification and Flight Test and work with the Integrated Project Teams and Functional Leads to integrate their development schedules, tasking tools and to maintain accurate resource forecasts.
  • Responsible for Certification and Flight Test risk management including management of the risk register, planning of mitigations within Chief Engineering and tracking of mitigations across the Programme.
  • Support Chief Engineering in communicating and integrating changes to the Certification Basis, Flight Test Planning and Prototype Configurations.
  • Ensure that project management data and KPIs are effectively maintained, analyse this data to provide insight into the progress of your projects and assist in resolving any issues arising.
  • Contribute to the creation of a strong Programme Management function by helping to develop project management processes, identifying best practice and ensuring a consistent approach to project management across all projects.

 

Your Profile:

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering) or experience in a technical aerospace environment in lieu.
  • Minimum of 10 years Project Management experience working in complex aircraft development projects with experience of certification and flight test.
  • Strong preference to candidates who have participated in at least one aircraft or highly integrated system certification program; familiar with different stages of development, procurement, industrialisation, and certification.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated deployment of Risk Management principles and practices.
  • Ideally hold a PM qualification equivalent to IPMA Level C or higher
  • Excellent understanding of techniques for scheduling, tasking (JIRA), risk management, estimation, project communications and budget and resource management.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing cross-functional teams and ability to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluency in German or any other language would be beneficial.
